How long will it take me to get organized?
A: Our services are completely customized to your unique goals and priorities. Because of our personalized approach, we’ll work together to determine a timeline that works well for your schedule based on the current state of your workspace or the area in which you want to focus.
How much will it cost me?
A: We’ve seen our work impact improvements in customer service, increase sales, reduce stress, build self-esteem and make better use of employee salaries that are no longer wasted on lost time and inefficient practices. So the more pressing question really should be what is it going to cost you if you do nothing?
We tailor our approach to meet your specific goals, so the investment for our services varies depending on the depth of our work together. That said, our customized approach allows us to craft ways of getting meaningful results on just about any budget. Having worked closely with executives and business leaders for many years, we know how important it is for you to see a return on your investment. Rest assured that the time and money you invest in getting organized will have a long-term, positive impact on your business.
It seems like I should be able to do this by myself. Why should I pay someone to help me get organized?
A: Despite your best intentions, it can be very hard to identify what is or isn’t working, much less get to the nitty gritty of how to fix it, on your own. A professional organizer is trained to quickly identify problem areas, craft appropriate solutions, and teach you the skills and habits so you can keep up with new systems, long after we’re gone.
What are your credentials for this work?
A:As a leader in our industry, we at Simply Placed have been successfully teaching our clients effective organized systems and productive habits since 2003. Our goal is not to just “change a space”, but to change our clients’ work and lives.
As the owner of Simply Placed, I’ve been featured as an expert interview guest numerous times for TV, print and radio media. I am the author of the book Six-Word Lessons to Be More Productive and the creator of several information products.
I am honored to be one of a limited number of Certified Professional Organizers in Washington. I am also a founding member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Seattle chapter and an active member at the national level, having been selected several times to present to peers in the industry. I stay active in the local Seattle area business community through positions with Women Business Owners (WBO), the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce and Business Networking International (BNI). I am a proud finalist for the 2015 WBO Nellie Cashman Business Owner of the Year award.
My degree in Psychology provides both a framework and foundation for our work. I value continuing education for my entire team so we may stay abreast of trends and changes that impact our clients’ needs.
How should I prepare for your visit?
A:The best way to prepare for our visit is to spend a little time thinking about your goals and priorities for getting organized. Think about what being organized means to you, how it will impact your work and what you hope to accomplish as a result. This clarity will make our time together more effective, which will ultimately save you money.
Please don’t tidy or shop. Seeing your space in its natural state will only help us help you, as hard as that may be to swallow. As for all those irresistible organizing containers and gadgets, hold off making any purchases until we determine what you really need. Again, our goal is to save you money.
What if I'm embarrassed or ashamed for you to see how disorganized I am?
A: You’re not alone. As professional organizers, it is our job and our passion to help you understand your current habits and how they’re impacting your work so you can make intelligent and meaningful changes. We take our promise to provide confidential and non-judgmental service very seriously. Besides that, we are human and we understand.
Will I have to get rid of everything I own?
A: Absolutely not. Our job is to better understand how you work so we can help you clear clutter – those things you no longer love, use or need – allowing you to appreciate and enjoy your space. We help you identify and let go of only those things that are getting in the way of leading a more productive and rewarding life.
Do you do the work for me or with me?
A: We prefer the experience of working side-by-side with our clients because it allows us to teach skills and habits that are the main ingredients for lasting success. However, there are situations in which we can and will do the work for you. Together we will decide which method will help you reach your goals.
Will I be able to stay organized after you leave?
A: If we’ve done our job and you remain committed, yes. Getting organized is a process rather than an event, and our signature process includes essential steps that support long-term success with new systems. If needed, we also do maintenance visits to make sure the system is still working for you and help make necessary adjustments based on your changing needs.
What type of clients do you work with?
A: We work with successful, busy professionals who want more time for what matters most to them. We also partner with employers of businesses both large and small who are committed to setting their employees up for success and maximizing their potential while realizing a great return on investment for the company.
How will things be different for me after we work together?
A: You will learn and adopt effective organized systems and productive habits through customized individual consultations or group training sessions. After working together, you will realize immediate benefits in terms of more efficiently and effectively managing your space, time, tasks, priorities, meetings and the people with whom you work.
With whom on your team will we work?
A: Each member of the Simply Placed team possesses individual talents that strengthen the services we offer to clients. When selecting a team member to work with you, our goal is to find the best match according to your needs as well as the skill set and personality of our team members. Should your project need more than one organizer/consultant, we can certainly discuss that option.
What if I need your help for someone in my office or my life? How do I approach them?
A: We do our best work with people that are ready and willing to make a shift. Our services will be most useful if they are suffering consequences from the status quo and recognize the need for change. To approach your colleague, employee or friend about getting organized, tell them a little bit about our services and suggest they make an investment in their future. Show support by sharing your excitement about the opportunities this work will open up for them. Then confirm they are on board and give us a ring!
Can you help me organize my home, my family or my personal life too?
A:Yes! Occasionally our busy professional clients need and request help in their personal life and space. To that end, among our team, we have organizers and consultants that are also skilled at helping with residential organization, move management, personal/family time management, student organization/productivity and personal assisting. Please let us know if we can make your personal life easier while we help you in your company as well.
What area do you serve?
A: We serve the greater Seattle and Eastside areas. If your office or home is located outside these areas, please contact us for details about our travel fees.
Are you licensed and insured?
A: Yes, we maintain our business license and both general liability and professional liability insurance.
Do you have any references?
A: The very best person to ask about our services is someone who’s already experienced them firsthand. We will gladly provide you with business and/or residential references upon request.
I'm overwhelmed. Where would we start?
