Are you ready to break your procrastination habit? Take a few easy steps at work today to start new habits that will help you to be come more efficient and get more done in less time.

  • Do you have several small tasks to handle today? Don’t wait! It’s easy to put off things that are simple for later, but they add up over the course of your day. If you have a task that you can complete in just a few minutes, do it right away, avoid letting the simple things become overwhelming in number and clutter in your work area and schedule.
  • Make appointments with yourself. If you have a task or project requiring focus, make an appointment with yourself on your calendar to complete it. Set a timer, become unavailable to your coworkers, turn off pop-ups and focus on your project. You’ll finish must faster if you can prevent interruptions and stick to your schedule.
  • Make a goal for tomorrow, today. Before you leave your office tonight, make yourself a goal for tomorrow. Write it down, add it to your schedule and make a plan to achieve whatever it is that will be important to you at work in the morning. Set yourself up for success before leaving for the day so you arrive ready in the morning to be productive.
