Properly Dispose of Prescription Drugs: Tuesday Ten Minute Toss

Time for the Tuesday Ten Minute Toss Challenge! RIGHT NOW spend 10 minutes tossing unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs.  Keeping these items in your home when no longer needed or useful can lead to unanticipated consequences of drug abuse and accidental poisoning.  It is important to properly dispose of prescription drugs again to avoid getting them into the wrong hands as well as to protect the environment.

Do not toss your meds in the trash or flush them down the sink or toilet.

Instead properly dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medications by taking them to a number of sites participating in the Washington State Take Back Your Meds program.

Check out the list of participating organizations that regularly take back prescription medications.

Embrace today’s challenge.  Protect yourself, others and the environment by collecting your unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications.
Ready, set, TOSS!
If you have ideas for a Tuesday Ten Minute Toss Challenge, please let us know! In the meantime, check back weekly for a new challenge and make sure to join in the fun. We look forward to hearing about how you do with the challenges.
