It’s happened to all of us at one point or another. You sit down to the computer, prepared to concentrate on the task at hand but before you know what happened, you’ve wasted the whole day surfing your favorite web sites and updating your Facebook status. If dragging yourself away from your favorite celebrity fashion blog (oops, did I say that out loud?) is more than your willpower can bear, then here comes StayFocusd to the rescue.
StayFocusd is an extension that works with the Google Chrome browser to help you limit the amount of time you spend surfing the web. You specify which web sites – the entire site, sub-domains of a site, or specific content like games or videos – that you want to restrict. Then, tell StayFocusd how much time to allow yourself to visit the sites. Once you’ve maxed out your allotted time, the sites will be blocked to you for the rest of the day. Just think of all you’ll accomplish! Parents, this is a great tool for helping kids fight against procrastination and distraction too.
Download the free Google Chrome browser by clicking this link, and thanks to Sophie for the tip!
