Time for the Tuesday Ten Minute Toss Challenge! RIGHT NOW spend 10 minutes tossing burnt-out or inefficient light bulbs!  Does your storage area have old inefficient light bulbs even though you’ve switched to energy-saving? It’s time to pitch old light bulbs! Ten minutes is enough time to purge your light fixtures of their burnt-out bulbs and your storage areas of any extra bulbs that don’t fit in any of your current fixtures.  Embrace today’s challenge and toss those old light bulbs!

You can’t just throw out all bulbs though. PSE is now offering a place for recycling your CFL bulbs (the twisty ones). Just look for the CFL Collection Station just inside the doors at city hall (Sammamish City Hall – check in your city to see if this is an option where you live). CFLs should not be tossed out with your regular trash. Not a PSE customer? Contact your local energy company and ask if they have a CFL recycling program.

Here’s another great option for your old bulbs: you can also trade in up to 15 incandescent bulbs for 15 Free entergy-saving bulbs from PSE and save money on each electric bill. Check out details at pse.com/rockthebulb. The next local trade-in date is this coming weekend, October 27th and 28th at the Bellevue Fred Meyer (2041 148th Avenue NE) from 10 – 4. You can choose from a variety of CFL bulbs and up to 5 LED bulbs, for a total of 15 new bulbs.
