We’re all guilty of procrastination at one time or another. In fact, you can probably think of something right now that you are putting off until later. Unfortunately, if you wait until “the right time” to do certain things, chances are that thing may never be completed.
There are many reasons why people procrastinate, such as unclear expectations, perfectionism, distractions or an inability to prioritize. You intend to do something, but drag your feet. Why? What are you waiting for?
Are you ready to break the procrastination habit?
As Mark Twain once said, “if it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first”.
Along with our monthly webinars and “Ask the Organizer” sessions, one of the many benefits for standard and premium members of our “It’s About Time” virtual productivity program is our monthly “Eat Your Frog” Day.
This is a day of accountability in action that is meant to encourage and support our members in “eating their frog” … the biggest project or goal on their list that they could use some support and accountability in taking off their plate. It’s a fun and effective strategy to fight procrastination, have a highly productive day and get priority work done.
How Do You Eat a Frog?
As the joke goes, “one bite at a time”.
Our Frog Day is conducted via Zoom, with the first check-in of the day at 6:55am, Pacific Time. Each participant will briefly state their goal or intention for the day, or the hour. From there, we do check-in updates each hour on the :55’s to report in on what you’ve accomplished in the last hour and declare what you will focus on for the next hour. We will end the day with a celebratory wrap-up at 3:55pm.
- Please note: it is not required to participate in every hourly check in during the day, or even the first at 6:55am. Participants can jump in when you’re able, as it works for your schedule. However, you will benefit the most if you can check in regularly throughout the day.
Do you have a goal or project you could use some help moving forward? Are you feeling stuck or procrastinating and need an accountability nudge? It’s time to Eat That Frog!
* in addition to registering for the “Eat Your Frog” Day, participants will receive periodic Emails containing productivity tips and strategies. You may unsubscribe at any time and we do not sell, rent, loan or otherwise your Email address.
