One aspect of getting organized and decluttering that can be challenging is figuring out how to responsibly get rid of things you no longer want or need such as electronics and appliances. Many local waste services offer electronics recycling and there are also many organizations such as schools, churches and local businesses that sponsor recycling events.
This Saturday March 12th from 10am-3pm St. Catherine Parish in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of NE Seattle is sponsoring a free electronics recycling event. You can bring any electronics (working or not, whole or parts) and 1GreenPlanet will recycle them for free. Proceeds from the recycled raw materials fund operations and benefit local charities such as Seattle Children’s Hospital.
1GreenPlanet (based in Renton, WA) also offers free pickups for businesses in the greater Seattle area, so your company does not need to spend a penny more on recycling. Visit the 1GreenPlanet website for details on what items they can and cannot accept.
