You’ve Got to Move It, Move It

Moving offices is an ideal time to declutter and improve organization.

We combine workshops and hands-on support to ensure a well-organized office move, with minimized down time or loss of productivity. Split into segments, we start with a workshop to help employees prepare for the move and finish with a workshop to help employees set up their new organized work space. We offer implementation support both on the move prep day (clearing clutter and packing up) as well as on the move-in day (organized unpacking and setting up) with two Professional Organizers. A “post-move” office hour is scheduled for two weeks after your move so we can answer employee questions/address issues that may have come up while using the newly organized space.

9:00 – 10:30
Unearth Your Desk and Clutter Clearing Workshop. We present an organized system (“SPACE”) for identifying and clearing clutter and establishing an efficient work environment. Participants learn effective strategies for eliminating clutter and preventing disorganization, setting up an organized workspace, evaluating which records to keep and how, and a decision-making system that helps maintain workplace organization.

10:30 – 12:00
Clear the Clutter – hands-on. Employees return to their work spaces and begin applying the clutter clearing system just learned to prepare for packing their offices. Our Professional Organizers circulate throughout the office to assist with individual implementation of the organizational strategies discussed.

12:00 – 1:30
Lunch and “Ask the Organizer”. We reassemble for lunch with a Q&A session.

1:30 – 4:00
Clear the Clutter – hands-on. Employees continue clutter clearing and move prep organizing, with our Professional Organizers providing additional hands-on assistance.

We review the “SPACE” sequence and principles of organization, share an activity that illustrates system effectiveness, present workflow and reference filing system best practices, provide strategies for effective task management systems and discuss productive habits that will help maintain organized systems.

10:30 – 12:00
Unpack and Put Away/Organize Your Space – hands-on. Employees return to their work spaces to unpack and set up their new work spaces. Our Professional Organizers circulate to assist with individual implementation of the organizational strategies discussed.

12:00 – 1:30
Lunch and “Ask the Organizer”. We reassemble for lunch with a Q&A session.

1:30 – 4:00
Unpack and Put Away/Organize Your Space – hands-on. Employees return to their work spaces to continue setting up their new work spaces, with our Professional Organizers providing additional hands-on assistance.
